When you are working on such tall buildings you have to be aware of the public not just under you but also as a safety zone. The higher up we work, thus creating higher winds, which in turn creates greater material safety awareness.
The other challenges are surrounding businesses, making loading material challenging to make sure we don’t bother the customers, clients and tenants. We had a situation one time during the stucco demo, a couple came to eat at a close by restaurant and they wanted all construction to stop while they went inside. This particular gentleman said he worked for the university and they would not dream of doing such a project that could cause debris to come down to the ground, however we are professionals, and of course (had safety nets up, held by planks from the scaffold to the wall). Someone once mentioned…if they had invented sky hooks we would absolutely use them. Public is always an issue, for one we ourselves are the public…so with that said, we need to remember life and projects go on, ensuring your surroundings are safe at the end of the day is all we can do. The safety of the building that these tenants reside in is our first priority, giving them a safe, sound, completely free of any mold home to be happy in for many, many years to come…

The first step is giving the residents 24hrs notice, from there the workers go in and protect the suite with poly for dust…from there the window and patio door is removed, from there an assessment for further repairs due to water damage can be determined.
